BIRD NESTS
Children will build small, cozy bird nests using sticks, yarn, and other natural materials – a gentle way to learn about animal homes and care for our feathered friends.
Adjust Activity by Age
Every child learns and grows at their own pace

2 YEARS OLD

ENCOURAGEMENTS
Let them feel and sort materials by texture. Praise gentle handling of materials.

Can you find soft materials for the nest? Can you gently place sticks in the nest?

3 YEARS OLD

ENCOURAGEMENTS
Guide them in weaving sticks and yarn. Discuss different bird homes.

Why do birds need cozy nests? What colors would you add to your nest?

4 YEARS OLD

ENCOURAGEMENTS
Talk about the importance of warm homes. Ask how they would care for a bird family.

5 YEARS OLD

ENCOURAGEMENTS
Encourage nest building for different sizes. Connect to empathy and nurturing.
