Ocean State Kids Celebrates One Year Anniversary of Protecting Childhood Through Outdoor Learning + Nature Play

We received a gracious invitation to the stunning Sakonnet Greenway, and that gesture was extended exactly on the first anniversary of Ocean State Kids. How very serendipitous! Nestled along the Aquidneck Land Trust, the Sakonnet Greenway property provided the perfect backdrop to celebrate one year of tremendous growth, and to allow families to connect and relax under the September sun. Bubbles floated in the air as families swam in the pool and soaked in the sun. The vibrant energy was contagious, reminding us all of the importance of community and shared experiences.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Marcos Cafe, who generously donated a delicious spread of sandwiches, fresh fruit, and vibrant salads. Their commitment to supporting our community was evident in every bite, and attendees were thrilled to enjoy such scrumptious fare.

This morning by the pool was all deserving. It’s essential to recognize the incredible efforts of the parents who work tirelessly to protect and provide their children with alternative resources for education. Their dedication to fostering outdoor exploration, creativity, and free play is what makes our community truly special. By prioritizing these values, they ensure that children have the opportunity to grow in a nurturing environment that values holistic development.

Together, we are not just building a program; we are cultivating a movement that empowers families to embrace the beauty of childhood. Here’s to another year of collaboration, exploration, and growth!

and of course, THANK YOU Kelsea Godek for continuing to show up for our group and snapping the most colorful pictures!
