Ocean State Kids had the pleasure of spending a creative morning at Cofvinoarte Studio in Tiverton, Rhode Island, where our little explorers immersed themselves in the beauty of nature and art. The day began with a hands-on activity, making fruit fabrics and eco-prints using wild roses and marigold flowers, learning how to harness the natural pigments of fruits and flowers to create stunning, one-of-a-kind designs on fabric. These projects helped connect the kids to the vibrant colors and textures of nature, turning the outdoors into a living canvas. Afterward, the children climbed tree houses, letting their imaginations run wild as they explored the surrounding woods, finding joy in the simple pleasures of nature play.
These activities are more than just creative outlets; they are essential to fostering a deeper understanding of the natural world and developing key skills in young children. Engaging in eco-printing teaches patience and curiosity, while using natural resources for art promotes sustainability. Climbing tree houses and exploring nature not only builds physical strength but also encourages problem-solving, self-confidence, and social bonding. Ocean State Kids believes in creating moments like these that inspire a lifelong appreciation for time in nature and to cultivate both creative and critical thinking skills in children.
Thank you to our gracious host Barbara Donahue and her pup River for letting our families indulge in your beautiful space. We can't wait to return for more Paint & Play!
