Our latest Ocean State Kids adventure took the Owl Adventure Club to the wonderful Peckham Farm at the University of Rhode Island, where we enjoyed an incredible morning exploring the vibrant life of a working farm. Watching the children's eyes widen with wonder as they met animals grazing calmly, playful goats nudging for attention, and fluffy sheep caring for their young—was a reminder of how beautifully children connect with nature.

Each child eagerly asked questions and bravely stepped forward to feed and gently pet animals they had only seen in storybooks, revealing strengths and curiosities we hadn't yet discovered. It was incredibly special watching our little explorers demonstrate courage and enthusiasm in an environment that was entirely new to many of them. Celebrating each child's strength—whether gently approaching a shy lamb or confidently leading us down a farm trail—highlighted how outdoor adventures encourage growth and self-confidence.

Leaving Peckham Farm, we parents felt a newfound appreciation for these simple yet extraordinary moments in nature. Ocean State Kids continues to offer us these joyful experiences, building connections not just between us and nature, but also among our families. We returned home with hearts full, grateful for the unexpected discoveries and the joy that nature brings into our community.
