The Wahaneeta Preserve Welcomes Westerly Wildflowers
A note from group leader, Bianca Paredes:
I wanted to share this little sentiment and story. On Friday morning, Marial and I visited Wahaneeta Preserve for a site visit and let me say - WOW the space is amazing! There are so many features that bring a unique layer of history and interest into the mix (the Wahaneeta Preserve was used as a Girl Scout Troop Camp in the 1970's) and I’m really excited to welcome everyone here. As I was returning home… I was unexpectedly greeted by a large deer in my driveway, facing me directly and undoubtedly making eye contact. We don’t get many deer on our property so I thought “what a cool moment”, clocked it in my mind and continued on...

Later in the day, as I walked by a bookshelf in my living room, a book caught my eye - one about animal symbolism. My first thought was “hmm that deer earlier… what was that about?” Opening to the deer I was hopeful I would find some level of symbolism and meaning, because tbh I move through life looking for that. Well… even considering that, I definitely didn’t expect it to hit so directly on the head, especially considering where I had just came from, what we’ll be doing, and the intentions I am holding for my role as your group leader. Note the ways it’s encouraged to bring this energy into balance… through nature and our children, exactly where we’re heading. I’m really looking forward to seeing and being a part of the growth, and connections and friendships that will come from this new space we are all co-creating together, and I just wanted to share this moment with you all. Have a great weekend, and I’ll see everyone soon!
